Dana Point Photography: A Day of Family Fun

Transcript for the Family Fun...

Hi! Join me on a photo trip to Dana Point with my family. I’m using the Nikon Z8 camera with a 40mm lens and an 85mm lens.

“So what do you guys got there?”

“Food for a picnic!”

We’ve got pizza for the girls and some pastries from a new French bakery we discovered. That’s awesome! We’re here at Dana Point, getting ready to eat some good pizza.

“Tell me a little bit about the pizza you guys got.”

Hold on, let me take a nice picture of it. Wow, this looks really nice!

“So, I got my pizza. It’s pepperoni! Looks simple, but it’s still good.”

That’s fantastic. I also have a very unique bottle for my drink. If you look closely, it says, “I’m a little corn-fused.” I do like corn, but if you’re wondering why I’m drinking out of this, you’ll have to ask my daughter, Giana, or my wife. It’s their idea—not my usual drink container. Thanks, Giana, for letting me use your cool sticker bottle!

Now, let’s check out these pastries. I haven’t seen them yet. “You girls want to open them up for me?”

“Whoa! Check this out!”

We’ve got crème brûlée and a blackberry tart. “Which ones are we eating, Bella?”

“The blackberry tart! You know I have a thing for blackberries.”

“Wow, let me move this around and take a look. Bella, is it good?”

“Yeah!”

“And Giana, you have the Nutella pastry, right?”

“Yep!”

“How is it? Pretty good?”

“Out of this swirl! The croissant is so well made!”

“Why don’t you tell everyone what you think about your dessert?”

“8.8 out of 10.”

“Why that rating?”

“It’s not perfect, but it’s still good.”

The filling is the same as the one in the crème brûlée. Mine’s like a 10 out of 10. I really like how the fruit isn’t glazed—it’s just the natural fruit.

“Wow, let me try a bite.”

The tart has a nice crust, and the filling is pastry cream, just like the crème brûlée. The blackberries aren’t too sour, which makes it even better. This is really good!

Now, we’re walking around the marina. It looks pretty cool back here. We’re just taking a little break because tomorrow we have a lot of work to do.

“Hold on, let me take a shot of that dog enjoying the ocean breeze.”

“Wow, really enjoying it, huh?”

We’re going to see if we can find a cool little way to get up to the bridge. This spot right here is awesome for photos! I’m shooting at f/8 to capture all the details. The steps leading to the overpass are very scenic. Hold onto your hats, though—it’s pretty breezy up here!

“Beautiful spot. Where are we, guys? Let me turn around and get a picture of you. So, what happened over there?”

“We fell super low together!”

“Wow, great job!”

Now we’re checking out some boats and the Richard Henry Dana bronze sculpture. Not sure what it represents, but it’s interesting. The breeze up here is refreshing.

“Check out these stones here—pretty cool to photograph.”

We also spotted some wildlife, like a camouflaged squirrel. “He looks so cute, but also skinny. I want to feed him, but we don’t have any food for him.”

Next, we found a bunny way up there. He’s hard to see, but it’s fun spotting all this wildlife. “Look over there at the green awnings. We need to get to that area next.”

Walking back, we noticed a pretty spider. “Look at that spider! Isn’t it cool?”

Now, we’re checking out this cool seagull. “Let me take a picture of these flags here. There’s a boat we saw earlier working near Dana Beach. It throws a lot of water at the front with its hose.”

We also spotted a sea lion underneath one of the boats. It reminds me of the seals we saw at La Jolla Cove—those were wild!

We’re finishing up at Dana Point Beach in the bay. Earlier, I lost my little microphone, but Giana and I prayed, and we found it! Thank you, Jesus, for answering our prayers.

“Now, the girls are checking out the bridge while I take some more photos. I love the murals nearby, especially the ones at Bear Coast Coffee. The artist is incredibly talented, and the photo gallery here has some great pictures. It would be cool to do something similar in our area.”

Finally, we’re grabbing some strawberries to snack on. “Wow, these look so good. Save some for me!”

Thanks for joining us on this fun family trip to Dana Point!
